Library models of 21st Century Technology Leaders share common philosophies, management priorities and technology based services and resources. Where is your library on the continuum toward becoming a 21st Century Technology Leader?
This website and wiki provide a library assessment instrument, sample projects from all types of libraries that exemplify model technology applications to enhance services, collections, and library operations, and a way to share and collaborate on innovative technology solutions. From these resources, you can also link to a growing collection of complementary resources on WebJunction Illinois that will stimulate your thinking and support your efforts in developing a library that is a 21st Century Technology Leader.

Library System Access
Library system staff can view an aggregated report, listing which libraries in their system have taken the assessment. NSLS will set up system-level accounts by request. Please contact Ian to request an account for your system. Once the account is set up, system staff sign in to the assessment as normal and will be redirected to the report at that point.
What this wiki is and is not
This wiki is intended to share detailed Illinois library models and in depth explanations and instructions on techniques used by these libraries. When including an Illinois library model, staff contact information and a willingness to share ideas and offer assistance is highly desired.
The intent is not to duplicate existing great projects. In fact, the hope is that all contributors to this wiki will continue to help develop and advocate Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki. Cross-linking between this wiki and the Library Success wiki is expected and encouraged.
How You & Your Library Can Contribute
The Illinois library models initially loaded include those featured in the Libraries as 21st Century Technology Leaders Report. These models were identified during the Phase I Study. Libraries featured in these models are encouraged to expand on the information provided.
To participate, as a wiki author and contributor, take the assessment. The account you create during the assessment process will be your wiki author account as well.
